Forschung

Claude Debru is distinguished for his contributions to the history and philosophy of life sciences and medicine. A student of Georges Canguilhem at the Sorbonne, he has written on such topics as the history of protein chemistry and molecular biology, on the history of sleep and dreaming neurophysiology (after a long-term stay in Professor Michel Jouvet's laboratory of experimental medicine in Lyon), on the history of hematology (in collaboration with Professors Jean Bernard and Marcel Bessis for the field of leukemia research), on the history and philosophical problems of biotechnologies, and on Georges Canguilhem's works in philosophy of medicine and history of biological sciences. He is currently working on the development of neurophysiology and psychophysiology of time.
