Leopoldina-Symposium "Spectroscopy and Molecular Dynamics at the Limit"

More 'Leopoldina-Symposium "Spectroscopy and Molecular Dynamics at the Limit"'
Date: Tuesday, 10 to Friday, 13 September 2013
Location: ETH Zürich, Campus Science City (Hönggerberg), Building HIL, Lecture Hall E3, Wolfgang-Pauli-Str. 15, 8093 Zürich, Switzerland

The goals of the symposium are

  • to review the theoretical and experimental developments in precision spectroscopy related to fundamental physics
  • to establish new possibilities and directions for the future, in particular to address fundamental questions in chemistry and physics
  • to place fundamental studies in the context of a broad range of recent applications in the natural sciences

The symposium will be devoted to the following themes

  • High-resolution spectroscopy
  • Molecular structure and dynamics
  • Precision spectroscopy and fundamental physics
  • Ab initio quantum chemistry
  • Symmetry selection rules in spectroscopy and molecular reactions
  • Dynamics including parity violation
  • Spectroscopy and astrophysics
  • Ultrafast spectroscopy and attosecond science
  • Ultrafast processes in chemistry and biochemistry
  • Physics and chemistry of cold molecules

The organizing committee

  • Jürgen Troe, Member of the Leopoldina, Göttingen, Germany
  • Frédéric Merkt, Member of the Leopoldina, Zurich, Switzerland
  • Georg Seyfang, Zurich, Switzerland
  • Urs Hollenstein, Zurich, Switzerland
