Symposium

Date: Thursday, 7 to Friday, 8 October 2021
Location: Leopoldina, Jägerberg 1, 06108 Halle (Saale)

Chemical photocatalysis and photochemistry have evolved as a key technology of modern synthetic chemistry. Beyond academic research, the methodology has entered the domain of industrial drug reserach, and a chemical production employing light as the only source of energy is foreseeable.

The symposium provides a scientific overview on the rapidly developing topic by merging different fields of chemical research. Contributions from synthetic organic and inorganic chemistry, total synthesis, drug development, and inorganic coordination chemistry are combined with recent developments in spectroscopy (mechanistic studies) and reaction engineering.

The symposium is co-sponsored by the Leopoldina.
