FEAM is the network of 23 academies of medicine, pharmacy and veterinary science from 21 European countries and Israel. FEAM promotes cooperation among its members and addresses issues of human and veterinary medicine, biomedical research, and health issues in general from a European perspective.
The work of FEAM seeks to improve the health, safety, and welfare of the European population through medical research and education in Europe. To achieve this, FEAM not only connects its members with each other, but also brings their expertise into contact with patient groups, pharmaceutical companies, health insurers and key players in medical research and innovation. On this basis, FEAM assumes an advisory role vis-à-vis the European authorities relevant to health policy. The Leopoldina has been a member of FEAM since 2007.
