Research
Heidi Pfeiffer is head of the Institute for Legal Medicine since 2008, where her main focus of research is forensic molecular genetics. She has published important papers on the use of mitochondrial DNA in legal medicine. Right now methods are developed which are more sensitive for the use in trace evidence. Her other research interests are forensic histology, forensic identification and ascertainment of age.
