1) Investigation of skeletal und cardiac muscles by means of intracellular electrodes and by use of radiolabelled compounds to obtain insight into the mode of action of drugs.
2) Treatment of organophosphate intoxication by new allosterically acting substances.
3) Drug-induced lysosomal storage of polar lipids. Characterisation of the molecular properties required for interfering with the degradation of lipids.The drug molecules have to be of amphiphilic nature to complex the lipids rendering them undigestible.
