Research

His research interests include symplectic topology and algebraic geometry. Earlier in his career he contributed to the theory of symplectic embeddings and in particular completed the solution of the symplectic packing problem in dimension four, a problem initiated by Gromov and further developed by McDuff-Polterovich.

His later contributions include works on symplectic intersections, decompositions of symplectic manifolds and studies on Lagrangian submanifolds. More recently he has been working on problems concerned with Lagrangian topology and its applications to geometry and dynamics.
