Stefan Meuer has made seminal contributions to understanding antigen recognition by human T lymhocytes and their activation. These results have been transferred for more than 20 years for their application to cancer, transplant rejection, and chronic inflammatory diseases. Since 1995 Stefan Meuer has been director of the renowned Institute for Immunology at the Ruprecht-Karls University in Heidelberg – a translational institution which is exclusively devoted to research on the human immune system.
