Ueli Braun is professor (since 1987) and clinic director (since 1995) at the Department of Farm Animals, Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich, Switzerland. He is the author of more than 300 publications in the field of internal medicine in farm animals, particularly cattle but also sheep and goats. Ueli Braun has a wide spectrum of interests and his publications have touched on many relevant topics in large animal medicine. More than 70 publications have focussed on the sonographic, radiographic and computed tomographic examination of the abdomen and internal organs of ruminants. Several publications have dealt with infectious cattle diseases including bovine virus diarrhoea/mucosal disease and Border disease, various gastrointestinal diseases and parturient paresis in dairy cows. More recently, research into eating and rumination behaviour in cows and the effects of disease and management factors on these activities has become a central part of Ueli Braun’s work.
