Research

Schwerpunkte seiner Forschung waren für viele Jahre Steuerungsmechanismen der Eiweißsynthese, posttranskriptionelle Kontrolle der Genregulation und deren Störungen bei genetischen Erkrankungen sowie die Regulation des menschlichen Eisenstoffwechsels und dessen Störungen. Gegenwärtig beschäftigt sich Hentze mit der Frage, wie Stoffwechselvorgänge und die Genregulation miteinander korrespondieren und einander beeinflussen.
