International Virtual Panel Discussion: How is the coronavirus pandemic changing human health behavior?
The COVID-19 pandemic has made people behave differently. For more than a year, wearing mouth-nose protection, adhering to special distance and hygiene rules, and limited freedom of movement have influenced daily life. During this international virtual panel discussion, experts will scientifically discuss how health-related human behavior has changed during the pandemic, which behavior will outlast this period, and to what extent health-related behavior might change after governmental restrictions have ended. The panel discussion is jointly organized by the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC). The experts will talk, among other things, about ways to influence human behavior considering the latest findings in cognitive, health, social and economic sciences. Debating at the podium are:

This virtual live event will be moderated by the journalist Vivian Upmann.
With this discussion, the Leopoldina continues its Leopoldina International Virtual Panel Series. The objective of the virtual panel discussions, organized in cooperation with the Leopoldina's international partners, is to offer a virtual room for the global scientific community to convene and for the interested public to join the dialogue with scientists. Previous topics have been: “Challenges in COVID-19 Vaccination”, “COVID-19 and Multimorbidity: How to Deal with Multiple Infectious Diseases in Parallel?”, “The Hidden Crisis: Mental Health in Times of COVID-19” and “Contact Tracing Apps: Promising Tool in the Fight Against COVID-19?”.
The event is open to all interested parties and will be held in English. Participation is free of charge. Prior registration is required.
