SUMMARY:11th Biennial Meeting of the International Human Rights Network of 
 Academies and Scholarly Societies
DESCRIPTION:The International Human Rights Network of Academies and Scholar
 ly Societies organises meetings with representatives of academies and schol
 arly societies every two years to discuss cases of supression in science an
 d strategies of external influence. This year, the Leopoldina and its Human
  Rights Committee host the event for the first time. During the meeting Nob
 el Laureate Sir Richard Roberts will present his personal view on the topic
  "Human Rights and Science". Further lectures and discussions will deal wit
 h science and human rights in Turkey and Tunesia. In the evening Sir Richar
 d Roberts will furthermore give a Leopoldina Lecture on "Bacterial Methylom
