DESCRIPTION:The German-Brazilian Workshop “How Do We Want to Live Tomorrow?
  Perspectives on Water Management in Urban Regions” takes place in Essen, G
 ermany from 4 -7 October 2016, organised by the Leopoldina, the Brazilian A
 cademy of Sciences (Academia Brasiliera de Ciências) and the Centre for Wat
 er and Environmental Research (ZWU) of the University of Duisburg-Essen.  T
 he workshop brings together young scientists from Germany and Brazil to ide
 ntify and discuss research topics and questions relevant for the future of 
 urban water management. The participants were selected beforehand. The even
 t format focuses on the ideas and concepts of the young scientists. They ar
 e supported by senior scientists, who give feedback in different formats an
 d at different programme stages. The workshop places superior emphasis on c
 hanges in urban infrastructure and consequent challenges for urban water ma
 nagement. The results of the workshop will be published as a science policy
  report.  On 5 October, the young scientists present the results generated 
 until then at a public panel discussion and discuss them with invited exper
 ts and the audience. For participation at the panel discussion, please regi
