SUMMARY:Innate Immunity of the Lung – Improving Pneumonia Outcome
DESCRIPTION:The 3rd International Conference in this series continues the t
 radition of bringing together international experts to discuss recent advan
 ces and key challenges in pneumonia research, which received another import
 ant boost due to Covid-19. Three core aspects will be: Pathogen recognition
  in the lung and triggering of the innate immune response, humoral and cell
 -based bronchoalveolar defense mechanisms and control of the host response 
 in the bronchoalveolar compartment as well as intervention strategies. Reno
 wned speakers will present a state of the art outlook and cutting edge resu
 lts. You will have the opportunity to share your own research and to exchan
 ge ideas with internationally renowned experts.\n\nIn addition to the lectu
 res and selected abstract presentations, there will be the opportunity to e
 xchange ideas during the poster walks and the evening event. The best poste
 r presentations will receive poster awards.\n\nThe conference is organized 
 by the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center/Transregio CRC-TR 84 "Innat
 e Immunity of the Lung: Mechanisms of Pathogen Attack and Host Defence in P
 neumonia". The event is co-hosted by the German National Academy of Science
