SUMMARY:Ion Channels and Gene Therapy
DESCRIPTION:The international symposia will discuss possibilities for drug
therapy of human ion channel diseases and the use of ion channels in gene t
herapy. The focus will be on recent findings on the physiology and pathophy
siology of two-pore channels (TPCs), which may play a role in common brain
diseases and in viral infections such as Ebola virus. Also in focus: gene t
herapy approaches to treat retinopathies caused by CNG channels. Mutation o
f a CNG channel subunit causes a number of severe retinopathies.\n\nFurther
