SUMMARY:Physiology and Pathophysiology 2023
DESCRIPTION:Investigating organelles, cells, organs and organisms, physiolo
gists work to define the mechanistic basis of living systems in health and
disease. In spite of major recent advances, it is a serious problem that th
e biomedical sciences are currently 'drowning' in masses of data that do no
t generate new ideas or models. We are in danger of missing the 'big pictur
e'. The conference will therefore be a very broad physiology/pathophysiolo
gy symposium that takes us all the way from the main bodily support systems
to the principal functions, namely, sensing, moving, talking and thinking.
We aim for presentations that provide a broad perspective and there will b
e adequate time for meaningful discussions.\n\nThe symposium is hosted by t
he American Physiological Society and the Academia Europaea Cardiff Univers
ity Knowledge Hub and is co-sponsored by the Leopoldina.\n\nFurther Informa
tion and Registration\n\nThe event is open to everyone interested to the su
 bject. Registration is necessary.\n\nRegistration (eventbrite.co)\n\nContac
