SUMMARY:Recent Advances in Neuroscience
DESCRIPTION:The “Neuroscience” symposium series, regularly organised by the
  German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and the Israel Academy of S
 ciences, serves as a Israeli-German exchange platform for experts from the 
 fields of neuroscience and life sciences. There, they present their current
  research and discuss global research trends in their fields of activity. T
 his year’s symposium will focus, inter alia, on cognition, perception, memo
 ry, neurodegenerative diseases and brain research.\n\nAt a Round Table with
  Israeli and German research funding organisations, funding and cooperation
  opportunities in neurosciences will be presented and new research horizons
  will be identified. Participants will also outline global developments in 
 the respective scientific field.\n\nThis year’s programme was scientificall
 y coordinated by the Leopoldina members Arthur Konnerth ML (TU Munich), Pet
 er Riederer ML (University Hospital Wurzburg) and Ad Aertsen ML (Bernstein 
 Centre Freiburg) as well as by their Israeli counterparts Yadin Dudai (Weiz
 mann Institute of Science) and Asya Rolls (Technion – Israel Institute of T
 echnology). The German Neuroscience Society kindly support the participatio
 n of German and international early-career researchers.\n\nThe German Natio
 nal Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and the Israel Academy of Sciences and H
 umanities cooperate closely in a strategic partnership since 2013. The Memo
 randum of Understanding between the two National Academies will be renewed 
 in the opening of the symposium.\n\nFurther Information and Registration\n\
