SUMMARY:The origin and beginning of life
DESCRIPTION:What is the origin of life, what is life and is there life outs
 ide our universe? These are some of the most fundamental questions that hum
 anity is dealing with. Discussions about where life begins, how it could ha
 ve originated and whether it is an unlikely isolated case in the universe, 
 or whether the emergence of life happens automatically like a law of nature
  if only the conditions are right, divide the scientific community. There a
 re proponents of the coincidence concept and supporters of a deterministic 
 model. Ultimately, these discourses also determine faith. The Annual Assemb
 ly theme “Origin and Beginning of Life” touches on almost all areas of scie
 nce and, in addition to the fields of chemistry, biology and physics, also 
 includes philosophy and the geosciences.\n\nOur Members Thomas Carell (Chem
 istry) and Thomas Henning (Astrophysics) are the scientific coordinators of
  the 2024 Annual Assembly.\n\nThe media partner of the 2024 annual meeting
