SUMMARY:Treatment of Elderly Patients: The Challenge of the Future
DESCRIPTION:A great number of elderly patients will reach the hospitals in 
 the future when the baby boomer generation will get old. Nobody is really p
 repared for this tsunami like increase of multi-morbid patients. Gerontolog
 ists and Geriatrics from all fields should work together to understand the 
 challenges of the treatment of such elderly patients. Translational researc
 h will therefore be of major interest in the future. The purpose of this me
 eting is\n\n 	to make the general public more aware of the problems of elde
 rly patients 	to promote greater communication among the worldwide communit
 y of individuals engaged in ageing research 	to invite young students to jo
 in this field of research. \n\nThe congress will be the 7th international m
 eeting on ageing in Halle (Saale) and hopefully develop to a focus on agein
 g research in Germany. It will comprise invited talks and poster sessions.
