DESCRIPTION:In the tradition of the meetings in Blaubeuren (2003 and 2005) 
 and Leipzig (2007), the aim of this conference is to bring together physici
 sts and mathematicians working in quantum field theory and general relativi
 ty, and to encourage scientific discussions on fundamental and conceptual i
 ssues. Selected talks will introduce different directions of research, in a
  way as non-technical and easily accessible as possible. The conference is 
 also intended for young researchers on the graduate and post-graduate level
