SUMMARY:Leopoldina-Symposium "Sepsis 2011 - A translational approach"
DESCRIPTION:Recent breakthroughs have allowed new insights into the pathoph
 ysiology of sepsis. However, there is a constant need not only to keep abre
 ast of and develop new scientific approaches but also to identify adequate 
 and effective clinical strategies for the treatment of systemic inflammator
 y syndromes.The aim of the symposium "Sepsis- A translational approach" is 
 to build an ambitious and unique program focused on basic science and clini
 cal research, where state of the art views of the recent advances in inflam
 mation and sepsis would be fostered. During this one day symposium, we will
  bring together scientific and clinical leaders from all over the world, in
  order to lead interactive debates. The congress will take place in the mod
