The European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities (ALLEA) is celebrating its 30th Anniversary at the 2024 General Assembly in Berlin, co-hosted by the Union of the German Academies of Sciences and Humanities, the Junge Akademie and the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina.

The public symposium, entitled “European Research Collaboration in a Shifting Geopolitical Landscape: How Open Can We Be?”, will bring together researchers, policymakers, and civil society representatives from across Europe to discuss the challenges of open research collaboration in a changing geopolitical context. A high-level panel will address the role of international scientific cooperation, the balance between collaboration and research security, and the challenge of promoting the freedom of science while ensuring responsible research conduct.

The public symposium is followed by a reception.
