Research
Electrochemical Energy conversion is the focus of the R&D of Angelika Heinzel, especially batteries, electrolysers for hydrogen generation and mainly fuel cell technology. Already in the early 1990ies, she investigated membrane fuel cell technology, a quite new field of research in Germany at that time. In addition, R&D with respect to hydrogen systems and fuel processing, the appointment as Professor for energy enginnering as well as the buildup of the Center for Fuel Cell technology with its 60 coworkers today are milestones in her life.
