President & Committees
The Academy is managed by a Board of Directors and a Presidium. The Executive Committee meets at least four times a year and prepares all of the Academy's important decisions. All aspects of management are regulated in accordance with the statutes, rules of procedure and election regulations.

The bodies of the Academy are the Executive Board, the Presidium, the Senate, the General Assembly and the Secretary General as a special representative of the registered association.
The Executive Board as defined by law is made up of the President and four Vice-Presidents.
The Executive Committee consists of the President, up to four Vice Presidents, four secretaries and up to three other members. The members of the Executive Board are elected by the Senate, their term of office is five years and they can be re-elected once. Prof. Dr Bettina Rockenbach has held the office of President since 1 March 2025. She is the XXVIII President of the Leopoldina.
