The Royal Society of Canada (RSC) is Canada's national academy. It was founded in 1882 and brings together outstanding personalities from various scientific disciplines in the country. The Leopoldina and the RSC have maintained a close and cooperative partnership for many years, particularly in the context of joint G7 and G20 policy advice.
In 2025, the RSC was the lead organisation for the Science7 process. In this context, Leopoldina and RSC organised a panel discussion at the Canadian Embassy in Berlin in December 2024, for example, with the involvement of the other G7 academies. The Leopoldina and RSC are also closely coordinating their involvement in international networks in which both academies are members.
