As Germany’s National Academy of Sciences, the Leopoldina brings together the latest scientific findings, evaluates and integrates them into recommendations and options for action in international political decision-making processes. In addition, the Leopoldina advises political stakeholders in Germany on international issues.

The Leopoldina brings the voice of science to the G7 summits. Together with the academies of the G7 countries, it develops science-based recommendations on globally relevant topics and thus strengthens the link between science and politics.

G20 Policy Advice ▸
In 2017, the Leopoldina initiated the Science20 process (S20) in coordination with the German government, thereby bringing the voice of science to the G20 summits. Together with the academies of the G20 countries, it has been developing recommendations on global future issues ever since.
