Research

Elke Lütjen-Drecoll is an expert on the functional morphology of the eye, age-related changes in the eye, accommodation, presbyopia, and especially on the pathogenesis of glaucoma diseases. From 2005 to 2013 she has been President of the Academy of Science and Literature, Mainz and since 2009 she is Vice President of the Union of the German Academies of Sciences.
