Professor Dr Heidrun Potschka

Heidrun Potschka holds the Chair for Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Pharmacy at the LMU Munich since 2006. Her major research interests comprise the pathophysiology and pharmacology of epilepsy. The research group’s projects have significantly contributed to the current understanding of the mechanisms of drug resistance and of the development of epilepsies. Interdisciplinary research concepts guide the identification and validation of novel target and biomarker candidates, which render a basis for the development of innovative therapeutic and preventive strategies.
Besides her research activities Heidrun Potschka is strongly involved in boards and committees of national and international societies dealing with science and health politics.
