Main Research Interests: Chronic pancreatitis, Pancreatic carcinoma, Bile duct cancer , Gastrooesophageal reflux disease, Interventional endoscopy, Cell cycle regulation
Joachim Mössner’s main scientific interest is both the physiology and pathophysiology of the exocrine pancreas. He and his group discovered new genetic abnormalities such as in the gene of cationic trypsinogen and chymotrypsin C, which increase the risk to develop chronic pancreatitis.
