Prof. Dr. John G. Hildebrand
- Section Organismic and Evolutionary Biology
- Location Tucson, Arizona, United States
- Election year 1998
Research
The research of John Hildebrand has combined neurophysiological, behavioral, chemical- and sensory-ecological, anatomical, molecular and developmental approaches to address problems of the information-processing mechanisms, behavioral roles, functional organization, and postembryonic development of the olfactory system in insects. The goals of this work have been to identify fundamental principles and mechanisms common to many nervous systems through studies of the experimentally favorable insects and to understand the olfactory bases of beneficial and harmful behaviors of insects that impact human health and welfare. Since 2014, John Hildebrand has focused mainly on science policy and diplomacy.
