Professor Dr Martin Suhm

Martin Suhm is interested in interactions between molecules and their subunits, which can influence biological processes and properties of molecular materials in a decisive way. He concentrates on the spectroscopic characterization of the simplest possible model systems for a given interaction, to elucidate its essential aspects and to prepare as much as possible for its accurate theoretical treatment. For this purpose, a number of sometimes unique setups for the direct vibrational characterization of isolated molecular pairs and larger assemblies were constructed in his group.
