Tamar Seideman is a chemist. Her main areas of research are focused on quantum transport, molecular electronics and nanochemistry.
She is considered a pioneer in the field of quantum transport, which she has advanced primarily through foundational theoretical concepts. She thus developed a new approach to coherent controls both for electronic transport as well as for the oscillation dynamics in molecular nodes. The approach is based on molecular-scale semiconductor electronics and the use of low-frequency sub bandgap light.
Seideman´s research is also devoted to coherent control and coherence spectroscopies in isolated molecules and dissipative media as well as the interaction of matter with intense laser fields. Moreover, she has developed new theoretical strategies that could lead to better control of the attributes of nanoscale devices and thereby to improve their functionality. This research is based on molecular and nanoscale electronics.
