Research
Ulman Lindenberger directs the Center for Lifespan Psychology at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin, Germany. He studied at UC Berkeley and Berlin, and received his doctorate in psychology from the Freie Universität Berlin in 1990.
He investigates lifespan changes in learning, behavioral plasticity, and brain-behavior mappings. He also is interested in successful aging technologies and in the neuronal mechanisms and developmental functions of interpersonal action coordination. His research combines cognitive, psychometric, and behavioral neuroscience methods. He is a member of the Wilhelm Wundt Society and the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, and honorary Professor at Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt Universität Berlin, and Saarland University.
