Research
Ursula Peters has been, from the beginning of her academic career, interested in comparative studies of the vernacular literature of the Middle Ages which she does by localizing the literature in the European context. This is based on various examples which show the socio-cultural, personal and literary poetical interconnectedness of this European tradition of literature from the 12th to the 15th century. A particular focus of her work is on the general-theoretical and methodological problems of a cultural-historical understanding of medieval literature.
