More information
Ageing is the primary risk factor for many late-onset diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and neurodegeneration. Importantly, many age-related diseases manifest as multimorbidities with presumably common molecular underpinnings. Ageing research has made great progress using longitudinal cohort studies, which enable the study of systemic trajectories of ageing and allow the identification of both clinical and molecular predictors of health decline.
The workshop brings together leaders in the field of Healthy Ageing and Disease Prevention research with the aim to foster interdisciplinary collaboration between cohort studies. Session topics cover epigenomics of ageing, molecular and genetic causes of multimorbidity, advanced computational methods for cohort analysis and environmental effects on healthy ageing and age-related disease.
