The German-Brazilian Workshop “How Do We Want to Live Tomorrow? Perspectives on Water Management in Urban Regions” takes place in Essen, Germany from 4 -7 October 2016, organised by the Leopoldina, the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (Academia Brasiliera de Ciências) and the Centre for Water and Environmental Research (ZWU) of the University of Duisburg-Essen.
The workshop brings together young scientists from Germany and Brazil to identify and discuss research topics and questions relevant for the future of urban water management. The participants were selected beforehand. The event format focuses on the ideas and concepts of the young scientists. They are supported by senior scientists, who give feedback in different formats and at different programme stages. The workshop places superior emphasis on changes in urban infrastructure and consequent challenges for urban water management. The results of the workshop will be published as a science policy report.
On 5 October, the young scientists present the results generated until then at a public panel discussion and discuss them with invited experts and the audience. For participation at the panel discussion, please register until 23 September 2016.
