V. Cardiovascular Healing Symposium "From basic science to the congestive heart failure center"
- Symposien
- Würzburg
- Startdatum
- Enddatum
- Ort Würzburg
Wissenschaftliche Vorbereitung: Georg Ertl ML und Johann Bauersachs (Würzburg)
Wounding and healing are archaic principles, prerequisites for survival of any biologic material. Strategies to cope with wounding may be quite different among organisms, species or among various organs of one species. It is likely, however, that there are general basic principles of reaction to wounding. Medical art in this field dates back to man kind’s archaic state since the wound was the major challenge for any healer during the largest part of human history. Experience and ongoing research in various disciplines of medicine in this field are independent and not widely communicated. The present symposium, therefore, tries to unify experts of some disciplines to discuss similarities and differences of basic principles of wound healing in the context of cardiovascular disease, impaired healing and potential interventions to improve healing. The meeting will focus on the interdisciplinary aspects of healing after myocardial infarction and cover rare diseases, imaging, involvement of non-cardiac organs, selected principles of injury and healing, and the role of endogenous and exogenous cells for healing.
