Prof. Dr. François Mathey (✝︎)

François Mathey has mainly worked in the fields of phosphorus-carbon heterocyclic chemistry, low-coordinate phosphorus chemistry, transition metal chemistry and homogeneous catalysis. He is better known for the discovery of phosphametallocenes, of the carbene-like chemistry of terminal phosphinidene complexes and of the phospha-Wittig reaction.
