This international symposium aims to bring together basic researchers and clinicians to discuss new developments for the therapeutic use of various types of transplantations. The focus will be on four major areas: Solid Organs, Highlights In Translation, Eye, Immunology/Ethics. International experts will present new approaches in the transplantation of liver, kidney, uterus, cornea, retinal pigment epithelium, pancreatic islets, faecal microbiota and bone marrow.
On Thursday evening, Prof. Michael Menger ML, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, invites the public to attend his opening lecture to discuss the opportunities and limitations of transla tional research – "from bench to bedside".
The symposium is co-sponsored by the Leopoldina.
