The German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina offers public guided tours on the history of art and architecture at its main buildung on the Jägerberg in Halle (Saale). Furthermore, the history of the Leopoldina is explained to visitors of the Academy archive at Emil-Abderhalden-Straße, based on selected archival material. The Leopoldina offers public guided tours on the history of art and architecture at its main building on the Jägerberg in Halle (Saale). The former lodge house, built in the 1820s and reconstructed several times, was last used by the Martin Luther University. After several years of vacancy, it was acquired by the Leopoldina in 2009 and according to the specifications for monument preservation regulations renovated until 2011. Since the beginning of 2012, it has served as the headquarters of the Academy.

On occasion of the “Tag des offenen Denkmals” on Sunday, 8 September 2024, the Leopoldina Main Building will be open to the public between 10:00 and 16:00 hrs. Guided tours free of charge for a limited number of participants will be offered on the hour until 15:00 hrs.
The Leopoldina offers public tours of the Academy's archives. Records from the Academy's history since its founding in 1652 are kept there, including matriculation and protocol books, curricula vitae, lists of publications and portraits of members. The tours give an overview of the history of the Leopoldina based on selected archive records.

Zum Tag der Archive werden am Samtag, 2. März zwei Führungen im historischen Bibliotheksgebäude (09.30 und 11.30 Uhr; August-Bebel-Straße 50a) angeboten. Aufgrund der eingeschränkten Platzverhältnisse sind die Führungen auf 20 Personen begrenzt und es ist eine Voranmeldung bis zum 29.02.2024 erforderlich.
Entrance fees are € 7,50, with a discounted fee of € 6,- for retirees and holders of the Halle-Pass. In addition to the dates offered here, special tours may also be arranged for larger groups by telephone or e-mail.
A limited number of tickets is available at the visitor desk of the Stiftung Moritzburg – Kunstmuseum des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt (vis-à-vis the Leopoldina). The Moritzburg is also meeting point for the guided tours.
