The German National Academy of Sciences introduces a special fellowship for scientists from Ukraine who have their careers in science endangered or interrupted by the war to resume or continue their research activities, and remain in academia. The funding is person-related and designed for outstanding post-doctoral level scientists from Ukraine to work on an independent research project at a university or research institution in Germany for an initial period of one year, while maintaining their affiliation at a Ukrainian institution.
The funding is person-related and designed for outstanding post-doctoral level scientists from Ukraine to work on an independent research project at a university or research institution in Germany for an initial period of one year, while maintaining their affiliation at a Ukrainian institution. An agreement has to be concluded with the host institution and the supervisor in Germany prior to receiving the fellowship.
The funding programme is open to outstanding scientists who have completed their doctorate (postdocs). Generally, applicants are eligible for funding up to 7 years after completing their doctorate or equivalent academic degree. Applicants must have Ukrainian citizenship. Applications can be submitted at any time and from any location, regardless of whether the applicant has already left Ukraine or not.
