International Academy Networks

Given the complexity of global challenges, governments and supranational organizations rely more than ever on independent scientific advice. The German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina represents German science in international academy networks. Through its active engagement, it provides a decisive contribution to international scientific exchange and policy advice.

All European Academies (ALLEA)

ALLEA is a network of 58 academies of sciences from 40 European countries.

InterAcademy Partnership (IAP)

IAP is the global network of academies of science, medical sciences, engineering and technology, bringing together more than 130 national academies.

European Academies Science Advisory Council (EASAC)

EASAC is the network of the national academies of science of the EU Member States.

International Human Rights Network of Academies and Scholarly Societies (H.R. Network)

The Leopoldina is a member of the H.R. Network, which supports persecuted scientists all over the world.

Federation of the European Academies of Medicine (FEAM)

This network of 18 European academies addresses medical questions.

Network of African Science Academies (NASAC)

The Leopoldina advises the Network of African Science Academies on a project basis.
