More 'Innate Immunity of the Lung – Improving Pneumonia Outcome'

International Conference

Date: Thursday, 8 to Saturday, 10 September 2022
Location: Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften, Markgrafenstraße 38, 10117 Berlin

The 3rd International Conference in this series continues the tradition of bringing together international experts to discuss recent advances and key challenges in pneumonia research, which received another important boost due to Covid-19. Three core aspects will be: Pathogen recognition in the lung and triggering of the innate immune response, humoral and cell-based bronchoalveolar defense mechanisms and control of the host response in the bronchoalveolar compartment as well as intervention strategies. Renowned speakers will present a state of the art outlook and cutting edge results. You will have the opportunity to share your own research and to exchange ideas with internationally renowned experts.

In addition to the lectures and selected abstract presentations, there will be the opportunity to exchange ideas during the poster walks and the evening event. The best poster presentations will receive poster awards.

The conference is organized by the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center/Transregio CRC-TR 84 "Innate Immunity of the Lung: Mechanisms of Pathogen Attack and Host Defence in Pneumonia". The event is co-hosted by the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina.
