More 'Ion Channels and Gene Therapy'

Symposia

Date: Friday, 7 July 2023
Time: 09:00 to 22:00
Location: LMU Klinikum, Friedrich-von-Gärtner-Saal, Nußbaumstr. 5, 80336 München

The international symposia will discuss possibilities for drug therapy of human ion channel diseases and the use of ion channels in gene therapy. The focus will be on recent findings on the physiology and pathophysiology of two-pore channels (TPCs), which may play a role in common brain diseases and in viral infections such as Ebola virus. Also in focus: gene therapy approaches to treat retinopathies caused by CNG channels. Mutation of a CNG channel subunit causes a number of severe retinopathies.
