Professor Dr

Annette Beck-Sickinger

Year of election: 2012
Section: Chemistry
City: Leipzig
Country: Germany

Research

Annette G. Beck-Sickinger is distinguished for many important contributions in the field of peptide-protein interactions.

One of her major interest includes the investigation of the interactions of peptide/protein ligands with G-protein coupled receptors, their modulation and identification of mechanisms. This has been applied to the development of therapeutic peptides and proteins in the fields of metabolic diseases, tumor therapy and pain research.

Her second field of interest lies in the field of chemical modification of proteins for the identification of novel target proteins, selective immobilization of proteins on surfaces and in the development of novel biomaterials.
