Founding Conference of the Leopoldina-KAST Conference Series

Datum: Sonntag, 25. bis Montag, 26. November 2012
Ort: Leopoldina, Jägerberg 1, 06108 Halle (Saale)

In May 2012, the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and the Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding, thus highlighting their strategic partnership. Under the framework of this cooperation agreement, joint symposia of high-impact concerning globally relevant topics and problems will be organized in the future on a regular basis.

The Founding Conference of the Leopoldina-KAST Symposium series will be dedicated to the discussion of key issues in regenerative medicine with a special focus on stem cells and regenerative therapies. Leading scientists from Germany and South Korea will address currently prevailing research tendencies as well as already discernible research gaps in the field of stem cell research in order to identify a common agenda for future science cooperation. Under the leadership of Professor Henning BEIER ML from the University of Aachen and Professor Il-Hoan OH from the Medical School of the Catholic University of Korea, the conference aims at preparing for a major German-Korean symposium next year.

The Founding Conference is open on invitation only.
